KNYO, Fort Bragg's own and only fledgling low power community radio station, has gotten it's antenna set up as of Sun. April 23rd, and wil be on the air broadcasting in the next month or so. You should be able to pick us up as far north as Virgin Creek and south as Caspar (remember this is low power radio, 100 watts as opposed the 5000 watts of normal full power stations, and a few thousand bucks to get set up as opposed to the $100,000s or millions required to start KMFB, KOZT, KZYX etc.)
We will emminently need many community programmers and DJs to rock our airwaves, so get yer skills and yer tunes together!
We are having a public event this Thursday April 27th at the Fort Bragg library -- representativse of Prometheus Radio Project, a low power/microradio/free radio activsit nonprofit org from Philly will be stopping here on their northwest tour to do a talk: "WE WANT THE AIRWAVES: A talk about the struggle for independent media and against corporate control" -- 6 pm Thurs. April 27th at the Fort Bragg library meeting room. Also checkout www.noyoradio.com and www.prometheusradio.org.
Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Squirrel
